Title: Looking for the stonefly hatch, August 2008
Post by: newsman on August 08, 2008, 12:12:16 PM
Well I have been hanging around Steelhead Town since Monday getting some acton on the raindows but nothing special, most around a pound and a half. No stones hatching yet some casings on the rocks but not as many as usual. Good caddis hatches around dusk, which is okay, but if you are looking for those 20 inch + bows it won't happen until the stones hatch. Lots of salmon in the river if you are looking for them. I'll post again in a few days.

Maybe where you are, we were close by there for a few days just got back and we hit alot of fish in the 20-22 inch range on nymphs and dries. We found that the bigger fish are out in the seams further out and the smaller ones where closer in.
