Title: wood chips for smoking

Does anyone by chance know where to buy large amounts of wood chips for smoking? looking for alder and maple for the most part.

Buy yourself a chain saw and a maple and alder tree. ;D ;D

all joking aside, chainsaw woodchips are not recommended for smoking as they are contaminated with bar oil from the spinning chain. Try a furniture manufacturer as a possible better source. Or take said chainsaw, cut down said tree, and make chunks and chips with a good ol' fashioned axe. 8) and wear eye protection..just like that smiley face!

Yes good point on the oily thing but make sure you cut down that tree on your property or get permission from someone first.

I'm sure Chris has a maple tree or two in his back that he can let you have for free. ;D ;D
