I am thinking about building a rod rack in wood class. Does anyone out there have any plans or design layouts for a project like this?
Thanks for your help. :)

Decide if you want vertical or horizontal. Also look at all the rods you have now. How big are they when they are broken in two, how big is the diameter of your largest at the base.

I want a verticle rack. The largest rod is 5' 5" when broken in half and has a base diameter of 5". I would like a 10 or 12 rod rack.
Thanks.

im thinking the same thing a buddy of mine is real handy with wood , and he owes me one. im looking for a vertical one as well. im going to take him to a tackle shop to look at the ones that you can buy. this will give us a ruff idea and we will go from there. please let us know how you do. some pics would be great.

Do a search for "rod racks" in the Buy and Sell section of the forum. There have been a few postings before as there is a member here who builds them.

A teanneau cover is great for safety and you can rack it, see cabelas.

My Grandpa built me a pretty sweet holder last year. It holds 28 rods and has a storage place in the middle. You can also wheel it around.
Here is a pic
