Title: Pinks
Post by: deepcovehooker on September 14, 2007, 09:45:55 AM
Can anyone tell me if there is a run of pinks in the Stave.  I only started fishing last year and of course there were no pinks around.     ???

The Stave River has a pink run and an opening for them, but the run is small compared to other streams. For better result, you can try fishing the mouth of Stave River or other more productive streams such as the Chilliwack River and Harrison River. From the reports gathered, fair amount of pink salmon has entered the Chilliwack River. Good luck.

If you want to target Pinks in the Stave, I suggest you start around the end of the Month. I have always done well for Pinks in the Stave from the begging through the middle of Oct. Check the colors you use make sure they are right, other wise you will find it an exercise in frustration.

If you want Pinks that are edible i would suggest the Fraser itself. ;)

I toured the stave on saturday in my new boat. Didn't see anything in the river before the trailer park and no one at the mouth seemed to be having any success
