Title: Fantasy Hockey Pool
Post by: DionJL on September 02, 2007, 11:50:28 AM
Anyone looking to do a repeat of last years fantasy hockey? I found the head to head league funner, and there was less drama with choosing the point system.  I will "commission" the league, and supply everyone with the name and password for it. Lets see what the interest is like. Post your name if you'd sign up and find the time to keep your roster up. We need an even amount of people.

I am in. Also I suggest making a maximum amount of waiver wire pickups.

All we did last year was donate a $10 fishing related item to the winner.

As for waiver moves i'll see how the rules go but i'm definatly in for that.

Count me in as well. I would personally rather play in a points league. Maybe we can do both again?

I'd also vote on restricting the number of waiver wire moves.

Sounds good. Just post the league id and password when you guys have it setup.

http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/fwr (http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/fwr) Should take you to the league site. If not the league# is 43299 And the password is "rodney", all in lower case without the quotations obviously.

There are ten spots so first come first served. I changed a few things. like i added saves for goalies and took away PPP and SHP. I also put a waiver limit on.
Live Draft happens SEPTEMBER 19th at 8:00PM

And please include your first name in your Team's name, ie: Dion's Steelheaders

Ok, points league is now up, here's the link: http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/league/fishingwithrod

League ID is 43045 and the password is "steelhead"

Draft time is Thu Sep 20 9:30pm MDT (Thats 8:30pm for all of you west coasters)

Here is the scoring system: G (4), A (4), +/- (1), PPP (4), GWG (4), SOG (.25), W (10), SHO (20)

I've used this system in the past before and it was recieved positivly. But if anyone would like anything changed I am willing to do it up 2 days before the draft. Just so that the number crunchers such as myself have enough time to prepare.

I don't like the max trade clause, and the minimal amount of bench players, but its your league.

Ok, I've added an additional 2 bench positions. I know this is latter than I had said I would change anything, but with only 4 people registered so far I figure our draft won't go that deep anyways.

To Rick, Jettabambino, Dave, Winston et al. First draft is tomorrow night, get registered.

OK I am in.  Not expecting much this year though.  I am not really that enthusiastic about it right now...perhaps that will change. :)

Is there any way to auto draft tonight ? I have a class that was re-scheduled and cant make it.

Is there any options to get any roster ?

If you don't show up it will automatically draft from your pre-draft ranking. So make sure its set before the 45-min predraft deadline.

The draft is in 20 min, and you will need the league ID and the password to get in.  Just hit the custom league icon.

I just checked the head to head draft...  the page says that we can't hold a draft if we have an odd number of teams, and we do have an odd numer of teams.  We need another team people.  Step right on up!!! :D

Ok so i had to switch the draft to "ready" and when i did it said it would compleate and auto-draft. Which i don't think we want. Give me a few minutes to see what is up. If now we will have to decide if we want auto draft or a delayed draft date
Title: Re: Fantasy Hockey Pool

Ok, So i can either take a later Live Draft time or Autodraft tonight and we trade like crazy the next two weeks? You guys decide.

My vote goes to Live draft later. It will hopefully give us time to get more people and get all the kinks sorted out.

So everyone knows. I just changed a few minor things. I am allowing for 6 bench positions instead of 8, and 2 Injured Reserves instead of 1. I also took away stat categories of SHG and SHA and replaced it with SHP. Pretty minor but if you have major problems contact me before the draft.

So you guys know, the regular season has started. Games between the Kings and Ducks are being played in London right now. You are losing possible points.

Remember to set your line-ups so the maximum amount of players are playing. If you need help doing so I can tell you how. You can set your roster a long way in advance if you like.

Dave so you know, there are limited waiver moves per season in both leagues. Don't run out and F yourself over.

I have also sent out a few trade proposals.

Yeah I know.  I still have 42 left on the head to head and 15 or so left in the points.  Was just tweaking the line up.  So we'll see how that works for a bit.  But man, you guys are killing me.  I have only had 33 man games played compared to 40 plus for the rest of you guys!! ;D

Ok. First of all there is a list of Days at the top. go to the link that describes the day you would like to edit your roster. You can set your roster in advance for the whole season I'm pretty sure. After that you can scroll down and view your list of players. On the far left it shows the position, followed by the name of the player, then the opponent they face that day. Players can only collect you points while they play games. The categories in which they can gain points is listed in the far right of the table/chart. You have more players than needed to fill your "Game Day Roster". Those with the "BN" (BENCH) abbreviation on the left of their name will not gain you points for that day. Therefore you do not want players that play that day to be in the BN position (the bottom of the chart). There are separate charts for forwards/defensmen and goalies. If you need help moving your players around so that they are in a Playing position let me know. Pretty much all you have to do is click and hold the blue box and drag it to where ever turns yellow. Then click "submit changes" to save your position changes.

Just checked people max games played in the point league and realized that I forgot to tell people that I put a cap on games played.

Since no one knew or bothered to read the rules close enough I'm just going to take get rid of it and hope people will not start playing the free agent pool. Plus I'm in third place with significantly fewer games played then everyone else, once I turn it up another notch you guys will get a whoopin for sure.
