Title: Sable fish - east coast of Vancouver Is

I've heard people catching sable fish out of Port Renfrew and the west coast VI.  Has anyone caught them around Victoria and the east coast area?

I think they like the deeper water or easy access to it, which is available off the West Coast of the island.  They are north of the island too.

Theres deep enough water in the straight but never heard of a sable fish in the straight. Dunno why they arent and dont know why theres next to no hali
