Title: Loss, Not fair call
Post by: Coho Cody on May 03, 2007, 10:03:47 PM
I'm not trying to make excuses for the canucks, but I know that that was not the way to lose after that f***ing cheap @$$ elbow by niedermayer on hansen. That was the worst elbow I've seen this year. What a terrible, unfair way to lose. Shoulda been a penalty.

naww...was a clean hit. Canucks deserved to lose that game. Hansen should keep his head up next time ;)

Seems like a clean hit to me as well. Regardless, Luongo should have stopped that shot from the blueline.

Elbow !! should have been a Major penalty for intent to injure !!
even Luongo figured it was a penalty he gave up on the play !!
terrible way to end a good series, I really hope that the league has a good look at the hit and takes proper action

questionable hit considering some of the calls against the canucks for less than that.  if you watch, his elbow followed through upwards after contact.......NEVERTHELESS, the canucks didn't deserve to win the series.  they only showed up for the overtime periods...

my hats off to Luongo, Linden, and all the rookies who played with heart.

very well said !! I agree we need a tougher team !! we also need to replace Naslund and maybe morrison with a couple of talented forwards.. with the money they have tied up in those two they could get pretty much anyone they want !! I really hope Nonis sees it that way and does something about it, I like the Sedin's but they looked really slow out there against the Duck's ... they are great when they get the chance to forecheck and cycle the puck .. but when they are in the neutral zone they get left in the dust  :(  all in all I think they had a great season and accomplished more than any of us expected

I hear stories from my uncle thats from montreal and he talks about the canadiens and hoow when he played hockey it was brutal. They would get a concusion and the coach would be like "oh its just a head ache, get back out there" and now the guys take a 2 week rest. Its a bunch of BS and now with the new rules the game in my mind is i hate to say it but ruined. And hansen was dragging the puck up the boards with his head down, i would have clobbered him too.

Hansen should of had his head up, it was an elbow, and that was a weak goal for Luongo to let in, he should have focused on the puck not the ref.

It was a much better season than i expected but there needs to be some big changes in the line up for next year. Nazzy gone, Morrison gone, Ohlund gone. Pick up Smyth and put him with the sedin sisters. Pick up a hard nosed defensman, and a crash and bash forward like cooke.

Getting rid of Naslund will be near to impossible.  Name one team who will pick up the last year of his contract which is worth a cool 6 million??  Morrrison would be much easier because he's an all around forward who plays on the PP and PK.

I don't know why'd you want to get rid of Ohlund....he'd be a top four D-man on any team in the league.  Defenceman is one thing the Nuks have going with and shouldn't need to tinker with.  Bieksa was unbelievable in his first full year, Edler was a huge surprise,  Bourdon will be great one day in the near future, and they've got Salo, Mitchell, and Ohlund signed for the next 3 years. Sopel won't be back as much as he'd like to be...consider him a rental.

I think Bulis definitely deserves a contract....he really turned his game around and played with alot of heart....if only he could make a better play when does gain the blueline...sometimes he gets a brain fart.   Without a doubt we need to get at least 2 top 6 forwards over the summer.

I think I'll start a thread...Who should stay; who should go.

the only 2 people I'd like to see gone are Sopel and Ohlund. Both sloppy and sluggish defenseman whom give the puck away many times to the opposing team.

If Ohlund had played like he did in the past we wouldn't have a problem but he gives the puck away and won't throw a hit. Don't sign Bulis. We can find a player that can do the same thing he is doing without the dumb penelties. Re-sign sabby too.
