Canucks are devistated with injuries after that big game. The Hockey gods givith and they takith away...Kessler comes back early only to be out for the next 3-4 weeks with a hand injury. That sucks big time! :(
Who knows how long Burrows will be out with a concussion? ??? And Cookie...hopefully his knee injury isn't too serious. He didn't skate today. Half the guys on our PK down and out!!!! :( :
Sopel is out with cracker syndrome...seems he put his back out picking up a cracker and it wouldn't stop spasming....don't know what to think about that one.
A number of reserves coming in from Manitoba...hopefully they can fill the void. Guys like Cowan may be a force to reckon with when the going gets tough. He had a heck of a game last night...hit everything in sight. Bulis too.
-
Yes all those injuries will definitely have an effect. I heard that Burrows skated today but I don't know much on his condition. Thats really to bad about Kesler, he had jump last night and it was good to see him back in the line up. And Cooke, I really hope hes not out long cause hes been hot lately and is always a physical presence and an annoyance to the other team. Hope they get back soon.
-
I just heard that burrows hasn't really felt the effects associated with concussions but he's French ...just kidding. Hope he's back...we sure can use him on the PK.
-
Bulis should get traded when its all over and done with!
-
hope, they take it as a lesson....in playoff hockey, any team can come back from a two goal defecit....they know now that they have to stay on their toes, at all times. besides, i'm sure they were fighting the butterflies.

Trade him to the Laughs. God knows they need all the help they can get. Right Chris ? ;D
-
I think a few are a little trigger happy on Bulis. I felt the same way back at Xmas but he's come a long way since then.
Granted, he took alot of stupid penalties in the first half of the year but so did guys like Jaarko Ruutu and he turned it around. The thing about Bulis wanting to get traded was a rumour that started in Montreal. he denied it, the brass denied it, and the team denied that it came out of the mouth of Bulis.
The guy's been greast on the PK and will be even more important with Kessler out, and who knows when Cooke will be back and there could still be a question mark about Burrows. He one of there better forecheckers, not afraid to use his body, and he blocks a ton of shots. He'll need a lot of shots to score goals but he definitely gets scoring chances because he's not afraid to go into the dirty areas but the brass knew that before he was signed. i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
-
I also agree about Bullis being better than he was pre Xmas. When the Canucks were doing terrible at the begginging of the year he was complaining about his lack of ice time and not being a team player. He has come full circle and plays like a team guy now. How many players in the league can you get with some decent talent for $1 million?
-
I went to a game and cooke and Bulis were the only guys hustling to the puck and throwing big hits. So in my book he stays
-
If the Nucks do get past the Stars, I think they are really going to have a hard time advancing past the next round, I think they are a year away. They looked slow against Dallas and were out played.
-
Also did Kessler get injured again? I heard he's out for 3 to 4 weeks with a broken finger? You can get Perry Penner or Getzlaf they all make way less than a shmillion. Plus there way better players, all though when its time to renew there contracts they are all going to get a million plus.
-
You're assuming that the Ducks are interested in unloading Penner, Getzlaf and Cory Perry which they aren't.
-
Don't be so sure, had dinner with Pens and Perry last night and they are not happy with Patches. Pens is really pissed because of what they did to him the last game of the regular season. He needed 30 goals for his bonus because he is still on a one way contract that he signed before the strike, not to many players have these contracts anymore because of negotiations that's one of the things they gave up was bonuses.
He makes 475 000 a year, he got 70 000 for playing 41 games, he got 150 000 for 20 and 25 goals and was suppose to get 150 000 for 30 goals.
The last game of the season he was at 28, he potted 29 with 18 mins left in the 3rd, and they sat him. Which means you have one upset hockey player.
I didn't suggest that they were available anyway, I just stated that there are guys that make less than a million that have way more talent than Bullis.

No argument there. Cheers.
-
The problem is most of those guys are under contract. Unrestricted free agents that have seen their best days about ten years ago are the only ones available.
Some are saying trade Bullis....how do you trade a guy whose only signed to a one year contract?? You either resign him or he takes the best offer from another team. If he has a good playoffs he'll likely stay with the Canucks for about the same price.

i think talking trades is a wee bit premature, don't you? let's not forget...there's still alot of hockey to be played. what gives? ???

Agreed, talking trades, 2 games into the play-offs? Are you forgetting that the Nucks also won the Division and are seated 3rd in the conference. Let's just wait and see where they go first before calling for heads to roll. ::)
