well i am home...and in a whole lot of pain. :-[ i just got all 4 wisdom teeth pulled this morning and im having to stay at home and i cannot fish :'( :-X :-\ this is the worst. just wondering how long it took for some of you guys to heal up from this?? being able to eat solids and everything else... i have a trip planned for fishing tomorrow but im not sure if i will be in good enough shape to get out >:(

Mine did not take long, and I was pretty much back in the saddle within 1-2 days. In fact the pain killers they gave me, for when the freezing wore off, wasn't even used. My son on the other hand had a tough time and did not fully recuperate for a few days. Good luck, and enjoy watching Oprah, or whatever. ;D

Have fun sucker. Got mine out last year, and decided I was gonna tough out the pain without any drugs, damn was I wrong once the freezing wore off I was in so much pain I actually wanted to die, stupid. Bleeding didnt stop for 3-4 hours, I only had one side of my mouth done, still have the other half, one day like have to go back :'(. Make sure you keep the wound clean, and take alot of drugs! Suck it up you baby! Only a little baby would let a few little holes in his mouth keep him from going fishing. :-*

Just had one removed a few weeks ago.. mine was really bad and they had to remove some jawbone in order to get it out. Needless to say it was about 2 weeks before I could play raquetball again, but only about a week before fishing.

While you're still bleeding and in pain - thouroughly wet a teabag in warm water and place one in each side instead of the packing. The tea will relieve some pain and promote clean healing. Also use a strong salt water solution to rinse periodically. It all helps.
Now in the old days, the tough guys used to heat up a 1/2" bolt in the fire and then lightly bite down on it while it's red hot to lightly cauterize the wounds. They then quickly extinguished any flame and to minimize excessive scarring with a good shot of whiskey.
So; are you a tough guy, kid.

Had them done over Spring Break grade 12 after a fihsing trip with dad. Needless to say, all 4 came out, hurt like hell once the freezing wore off, the guy buggered up the stitching job, and top and bottom blew open on the left side of my head, looked a little awkward for a few weeks ::) :P
Either way, was out again in under a week, all I have to say is that painkillers are your friend, to an extent...
It'll be good again soon enough.

i had some major work done last spring. upper bone structure and later, bridge work to replace molar and canine....not fun.
whatever you do, try not to spit. mine took 2 days to completely stop bleeding.

Simple solution, suck it up and don't take any T3's. Besides, I thought you weren't driving tomorrow ???

i would be meeting people out there and then taking another vehical... anyways i already have taken the T3's oh and how about you help me out here and talk to mom and dad about it that might make things a bit easier for me

I remember when my brother got his wisdom teeth pulled. He got all 4 pulled went to the pharmacy for his t3's went home and packed his skies and headed off to big white for the weekend. No problems. When I got mine out no T3's needed. I have a pretty good dentist. Mind you mine came out in one piece no problem. Good luck to you.

When I had mine pulled, I had 2 done per side. Out of 4 teeth pulled, only one came out whole. The dentist gave me demerol for the pain, and I remember I popped 4 right away (prescription said max 1 per each 3-4 hours or something like that), still felt the pain so I tossed the bottle and endured the pain. Couple of days of soup, couple of weeks before all the swelling went down and my jaw recovered from all the yanking that my none too gentle dentist had performed on my mouth. Then I went in for the other side.....no pain killers the second time.
Ended up cutting out my own stitches because they were driving me nuts (in the days before the dissolving stiches) and I went to go back to my butcher dentist for their removal. Boy was he confused when he couldn't find any stitches in my mouth! Look to a couple of days minimum before you're reasonably functional. T3's will constipate you so only take them when you need them or eat some Activia yogurt, it's got probiotic bacteria that will help keep your intestines doing its job.

i remember when i had all four pulled at the same time and it sucked as i was in pain for about a week as the pain killers that i got prescribed weren't the best for the gut so i wasn't taking them regularly as it made me feel like crap but after that it wasn't to bad solids didn't come to about the second week so for now get use to have all your meals come through a straw.Oh and as for work it was two weeks off for me before i was up and working again.

Atta way to man up and get all four pulled at once. Now you never have too do this again. That's what I did and boy am I ever glad that I don't have to do that again. A couple of years back I had my knee scoped and I was fishing the next day! I'm a little die hard!!
