Title: Ref. How much gear is enough??? Never enough, New pin reel ordered
Post by: Xgolfman on March 03, 2007, 02:03:11 PM
I've debated myself in and out of this reel for the past month...Partially because I've had a hard time getting in touch with the guys selling them...Today, I got replies and am in the process of ordering one...Hopefully will be here this week...
I got an Mykiss Pin reel....They are 5" drums and have abec 7 german bearings in them to make um super smooth....Don't ask me why??? I have no Idea either....Everytime I save up some money for my fly stuff...(Need an electric motor and fish finder for my pram)....I find some pin stuff I want more....WTF is up with that...I'll add a pic. of another guys....Mine is also going to have the solid back plate, though you can get them with both sides ported if you want...(Mykiss 2)...decided that the solid plate would keep more grit out...
Hope this is as good as I've read about um....I'll post once it's fished too...

Xgolfman you have about another 6 weeks of steelheding left than your pins are going to sit for about 2.5 months until the salmon season starts. Why buy it now? Its fly season for cutties and bows comming up. Cutties are already starting and pretty soon the lakes are going to be prime all the way through.

You little bastiche!   All this talk of I'm not going to order/I'm going to order the Mykiss!  You truly are the GEAR WHORE of the UNIVERSE!   We are not worthy...We are not worthy....

 ;D ;D

Looking forward to seeing the new reel buddy.  Matching it up to the new Lami too?
