Title: NFR - Any Class 1 or 3 drivers out there ?
Post by: James on February 24, 2007, 11:19:30 PM
I am just looking for some insight about a career change i have been thinking about . I was wondering what the employment rate is like for a class 1 or 3 driver , not a long haul driver though .
Anyone have any advice or comments ? Companies to stay away from ? or Driving courses you can recomend .

Thanks . ;)

Hi james.i have my class one and drive for c.o.v good job. As far as i know there is lots of work out there, driveing local most guys pay starts at about twenty bucks an hour for class one drivers. I would recomend getting your class one over your three because it will give you more options. I know arrow is hireing and they pay twenty two bucks an hour.

I took my course through shawnee driving school, good instructors. Basic course for class one is $1475.00 and there advanced course is $2950.00. The difference is 16hrs road time versus 38hrs road time. There Ph# 604 581 2900.

would you consider driving for the local bus system....it's class 2 rated with 6 weeks of paid training and a top wage of about $25/hr....plus it's local work only.....they're hiring like crazy right now ( they're looking to fill about 300 drivers this year )

cheers.....

that's always an option , but i don't like the interaction with the passengers though . But it is something to think about .
