Title: Penalty night in Canada
Post by: searun17 on January 13, 2007, 05:57:34 PM
its Saturday night and hockey day in Canada ,i settle in to watch some hockey looking forward to the nucks and leafs game then the refs show up with whistles controlled by Gary bettman sitting on his duff somewhere in NY counting his money and watching the basketball game on the tube.I don't know  how most others feel but to me all the penalties are ruining the game ,particularly the fantom ones that have zero effect on the play,i would just like to see a game given a chance to breath and form its own identity instead of watching a game that its identity is controlled and dictated by the refs and the new rules of the game.

At least they can not foul out. But a wait a year or two and it will be like b-ball. I get so frustrated by the game these days that it makes it difficult to sit and watch an entire game.

Way too much penalties, takes away the flow of the game. But I agree with BS, who cares when the good guys are taking it to the Laughs ?
