way too much oil.  a couple of drops in the worm gear is all you need. excessive oiling will create a hydraulic effect and can make your drag and gears slip.  i learned that the hard way  :-[ . Rob at gone fishin' will confirm that.

I agree - but it's good to have such detailed pics as a guideline for folks trying to do the work themselves.

Dennis, thanks for the sites.

The Record looks much stronger.  Does anybody have one?  How are they performing?  What are the advantages and disadvantages?  Thanks.
