I finally went in and got these pics done. It is from a disposable underwater camera so the quality really is not the greatest. I have to get me once of those good underwater digital cameras before our next trip
All these pics are from Xel-Ha

Enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a real zoo with all those tourists chasing the few remaining fish.
With all that pressure how many more years will it be before there's nothing to photograph at all?

Its made for the tourists its a resort.... ::)
The grouper that you see are all gathered at the end of it all because the employees feed them to get them there for the tourists. Nobody is fishing for them so why would they be in jeopardy? People are just swimming and looking.

(BB)Eddie99,
Cool pics......reminds me of when I was there end of July. Wonder what resort you stayed at? I, along with my new wife stayed and were married in Playa Del Carmen at the RIU Palace Mexico. For anyone wanting the best vacation, spend the extra cash and do a 5+star resort. An experience that will last a life time for sure, I can't even tell you guys that haven't done it before how awesome that trip was. Thanks for sharing and bringing up some awesome memories.

We stayed in the Windham Azteca and I agree it was the time of our lives.

It's not a resort it's a Cenote-didn't they tell you that?
Thise fish are there because the Cenote connects via underground waterways with the ocean-increased turbidity and pollution from the human invasion is killing Cenotes across the Yucatan.
Cenotes being the main souce of water on the Yucatan mean this is a serious problem.
"A sinkhole formed by underground water eroding away limestone. The ceiling collapses, allowing access to the water below. Cenotes were the primary source of water in the Yucatan peninsula.
