Just a friendly reminder that the Vedder River Clean-up is coming up on April 22/06!! Hope that we have a good turn-out this time around as well, as the last one was a blast and all who attended did a great job of making the River a much more pleasent place to be for all user groups!! ;D ;D
For an added incentive, I believe that there will be donuts and coffee available as well!! But I am sure that Rodney or Chris could comfirm that !! ;)
This is a reminder that I recieved from the Coalition:
Dear CVRCC volunteers,
The Chilliwack/Vedder Cleanup Coalition is holding another cleanup activity on
SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2006 with registration to take place from 9:00 A.M. until
9:30 A.M. at the usual location at the Great Blue Heron Reserve at the southern
most end of Sumas Prairie Road in Chilliwack. You have participated in this
worthwhile activity in the past and the Directors of CVRCC would really
appreciate your participation again. There is increasing pressure on this
beautiful area and with that, unfortunately, comes an increase in litter and
garbage. With your help we are making a positive impact on reaching our goal of
protecting the environment.
Thanks again for your participation in the past and we look forward to seeing
you on April 22.

Why can't they make these happen on a Sunday?? I have no way of getting Saturdays off.. it is frustrating... I wish I could attend :'(

Wrong province.... :-\

After the overwhelming demand of donuts at the last cleanup, it has been confirmed that we will be increasing the donut supply at this cleanup. ;) Coffee (for big kids) and juice (for little kids) will also be available as usual.
-
The little people and I will be there again (unless its raining, I have this fear of melting... :D )
If the weather is crappy, then the little people and I will just show up for donuts, coffee and juice. ;)

Exams, sorry guys :'( :-[

Sorry about our Saturday decision, Thickrick. We have struggled as to whether or not our cleanup days should be Saturday or Sunday. We switched to Saturdays because our original Sunday dates resulted in too many complaints. As a result, we chose to hold them on Saturdays except for the one on the last Sunday of each September, which is Rivers Day.
The positive thing is that at least you are with us in spirit.
Thanks to all who participated. It was again a successful activity. We are making a difference, thanks to the many volunteers who attend.

Finally found time today to take the bottles and tins in from the cleanup and we got $86.80 for the the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Coalition bank account. Thanks to all that took the time to collect them during our second cleanup of the year.
