I reckon this is a huge deal in our local area. Likely all productive shoals have these illegal strings of traps. DFO does a blitz in Boundary Bay ONCE each year and find 300+ illegal traps.

Would love to see a unit dedicated to overnight stakeouts and surveillance of active poaching areas. Could probably pay the wages of the new unit with the proceeds from auctioning off the seized gear and boats ;D

Just the basic fact they do their annual sting in Boundary Bay and get the same result each time is telling. I paid $90 for 2 large crabs on Mothers Day. I feel duped.
