« on: August 22, 2004, 09:00:59 AM »

Rod and I are going to be at Peg today at 1 pm to deal with the garbage that fellow that was running around and piling it in a heap.

Anyone in the area that could help that would be great but donot drive a distance to get there.

The coffee and the donuts will be on me after. ;D ;D

Went out to Peg Legs at 1:00 pm and DK, Canoeman and his brother John were already there and had loaded DK's truck. The guy in the Lumina had been busy ! Chris arrived WITHOUT THE DONUTS, and we loaded John's truck and because there were no donuts (nah!), DK left for a fishing appointment, and Canoeman and John had family stuff so they left. Gywn came across and the three of us separated the rest of the garbage and took away all the litter, paper, glass etc in garbage bags. We had to leave a pile of metal which we will see if the City of Chwk will pick up. Sure thank Canoeman and John for coming all that way, and DK for his truck load. If Rodney will post a picture it tells the tale.

Great work guys. I suggest you form a FRCC (Fraser River Cleanup Coalition) and do that 4 times a year. ;D

Gwyn and I went for ours later but you guys were in too much of a rush.

I took 7 bags just now to the dumpster at the Softball Diamond I have access to. ( Under the cover of darkness ;D ;D)  Two bags broke on the way to it so I am out there at 11 pm picking it up for the second time. :-[
Gwyn and I checked for nets after the cleanup and found one set net at the bridge and we phoned it in. Another was phoned in by Jim that was driftind under the bridge this afternoon.

Lots of activity at the beach, totes etc.. It appears the netting is continuing full bore even with the closure. :(

Got to get ready for the jack spring fishing trip as the float will be going down in 7 hours. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks to the above who helped out today, it is so great we have so many on this board that cares so much about our environment and are willing to do some thing to improve it.

I hear Terry has been elected President of the FRCC, congrats. ;D ;D

Lew got 2 or 3 Gammy's.

Will be lots of BB and other stuff when the river drops.

Leadbelly has first call on all lead items he says. ;D

Better get away from this board or will not get ready for the trip to the Thompson.
