Title: What makes a good float?
Post by: Jimmy on August 24, 2004, 08:10:50 AM
Asked this question on the other site. What is the biggest advatage to spending some money on a float? I can buy a foam dink float for $.79 of $4.00 on a cork float or $7.00 on a plastic float.

What is the great diffference? and would making floats be of benifit to myself.

For the smaller local rivers foam dick's are just fine. For tiny clear streams maybe those $8 things will work. Big water commands big float, like Fred's cork units. Making you own foam floats is super easy, cheap & they are far superior to those stupid Gibbs wrap-arounds. E-mail me if you want the recipe Jimmy.
