Title: Hicks and Deer Lakes
Post by: DragonSpeed on June 05, 2021, 02:23:37 PM
Fished Hicks on June 3. Dragged a red doc and a black leech all round the two islands that are at about 11:00 to the boat launch.  5 hours of rowing.  No fish.  One rod and reel donated to the lake gods 🙄

Fished Deer on June 4.  Dragged a small black leech with a brass bead and a little red flash  in it.
Small little cutty mid lake.  Anchored and cast with full sink type 6 line near inflow creek mouth.  One small rainbow and one 11” that came home with us.  Super windy day.  There were times that I was going almost backwards while rowing

Still, a fun two days if fishing.

thanks for the report & haha, i myself donated gear to the gods last summer, got snagged and just at that moment the wind picked up, rod flew outta my lap and it seemed to disappear in slow motion from there.  i was trolling my favourite pumpkin head behind my favourite croc as I didn't have my fly rod, insult to injury!
