WTF

I fished the vedder with a friend today and mid river we stumbled into this?




This fish was just lying in the shallow water,STILL GIVING SIGNS OF LIFE belive it or not,but clearly was not gonna survive.

How this happened was the question for the rest of the day for me and my friend,we through the fish into the river to let nature take its course with it,from the pictures its clear that the fish was hooked at least once I would say couse of the markings of the line on the head,but the rest is a mistery.

Any thoughts on how this may of happened  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Looks like it was hooked, maybe even snagged right under the fin and didn't survive the release.  My guess is that a seagull got at the eyes right away and probably too a couple of bites at the hooked area...  ???

My guess is eagle.  Grabbed by the head and wriggled free in flight.

By the location of the line marks, I'd say the fish was hooked in the eye or slightly behind. The injury on its throat looks like a it was done with a knife. Was it a hatchery fish?

could be an eagle kill, doesnt look like a knife wound. looks like a hatchery fish. could have been bonked and lost while wading, doesnt look like a slit fish.

seals seem to like taking small nibbles then toss them for a new one.

but that's usually only when there are lots of fish...

the wound in the neck area is showing broses and is not a sharp cut like a knife cut.
looks more like a eagle attack.

Someone hooked it under the chin.
It then got snagged up in something and tore its way to freedom or the fisher broke it off.
While thrashing around against a stump or?it poked its eye out with a sharp stick.
Ok none of us really know but it was definitely in a battle with a fisherman as the line scars are there.
