Why buy Native Salmon...
« on: August 24, 2011, 07:37:17 PM »

When you can steal it from a rec fisherman's cooler???!?!?!?

Mrs D and I caught 4 nice sox last night and slept in the truck near the bar.  Then we were at it around 0700 this morning after having tossed the cooler into the back of the truck (with a canopy - albeit not locked)

We fished hard today and came up from the river at 1500 with a few to add to yesterday's fish.    I got to the truck, opened up the cooler and the first words out of my mouth were: "Son of a B*tch!"

Some lowlife STOLE my salmon.  Left the cooler, left all the ice.  Just took the salmon.

Wow.  Anyone else ever had this happen?

I wish.  And would have been good to see the remains of some fish thief next to some tracks.

The cooler had BOTH latches unlatched, opened, had the fish taken out, and then closed, as was the canopy on the truck.

D@mn bears are getting pretty smart if it was bears.

You should marinade another sock with laxatives and put it back into that same cooler and go fishing again  ;D

Obviously there is no shortage of meat-hungry people in the valley. Lats year a young chap stole my buddy's fresh caught red spring when we were cleaning up some garbage off the shore. We just saw him running to the back of the bushes with the fish in his hand. Too late to run after him as it was a pretty steep area to climb up! :-\

Personally, I think that if someone is so desperate for a fish that they need to resort to stealing it, then they obviously need it more than I do. Makes me grateful for being raised on Sockeyes and having the morals my mom put into me, and sad that someone is either in a desperate enough situation to need food that badly, or just dumb enough to get a good laugh.
