Seclusion needed on the Vedder

"If you put in some time and alittle walking, you will find a nice uncrowded spot.
So now it's up to you, crowds or alone. See many fish caught, or just what you catch."

I am going to take some advice and skip the gong holes... I've heard that up tamihi way is a good spot for finding secluded holes.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? Nothing to exact ... just generally.

You want solitude ? Try Lickman and Peach Roads, Tamahi , Boulder Hole, and Boundary Pool. Just shut your eyes, plug your ears and Voila solitude !

Lots of secluded spots in lower and upper river.  Bring a rope and go with a buddy if you want to venture around some high angle access points.  Take time next june to go walking to find your spots for July.  

Also,  try a weekday if you can.

Lots of secluded spots on the upper or lower Vedder. After you get to the river and see a crowd at some hole, walk the opposite way and you will find beautiful secluded spots, with fish there! Me and my 10 old daughter went out the last 3 days, got 3 springs, and lost a lot of others. No-one around. It's there waiting for you.

The Vedder tends to get a bad rep. because of crowding. Not true. It's one of the prettiest rivers around and so productive. To get away from the busy spots, you don't really have to walk far, and sometimes you just need to find a few spots that do not entice people. There have been times when we fished a couple of spots where cars were parked, but everyone would walk right by it because it didn't look productive. Maybe not as productive as the popular spots, but was still producing lots of coho. ;D General area? Basically, just park your car at the popular accesses, and walk up or down the river. You'll be very surprised how uncrowded the lower river can be sometimes. :)

The Vedder has kilomteres of fishable water. Go when theres no salmon or after a flood and find the spots that people most likely WON"T go to, like exotic places ;) or far walks.

How about using a Pocket Fisherman?  If you have a fish-on, just stick it under your jacket.  8)
