Advice on mainlines
« on: July 17, 2004, 08:32:26 AM »

Hey guys need some help here.  I bought some cheap 10lb mono for mainline to handle big carps but it seems to always birdnest constantly >:(  What  brand of line should i use that can handle beefy carps through the weeds, yet be small diameter and be sensitve?  I'm using a medimum light action rod and reel.  Not too pricey either. thx

always try to buy decent line, maybe Maxima chameleon, abrasion resistant. or even braided line.for the little bit of carpin I do I get away with 4lb mono, just always check line for abrasions and weak (old) knots. Also it may not be just the line causin the snarls, keep the spool tension tight enough.
