Suggestions for smoker
« on: April 15, 2024, 03:12:50 AM »

Hi, After 25 years, my little chief has finally decided to retire. Looking for advice for a new smoker that's reasonably priced, between $ 300- 400. Thanks.

it really depends on what your smoking. if your happy with the size of your little cheif and are not smoking larger pieces of meat like briskets, a bradley would be a good setup. i have a bradley digital 5 rack smoker and its been good over the last 10 years ive had it. did have replace an element once. nice to be able to control temperature for different types of meat.

if you plan to smoke briskets and larger meat, their are defiantly better options. ill let others comment on those.

I agree. I have the 4 rack Bradley, and I'm very happy with the results. The temperature control means a lot when making jerky (I use Alton brown's recipe), and I'm finally getting better at salmon. Any shortcomings are because of me and not the smoker.
