My friend had an extremely poor batch of vanish last year and swore off it!   He did, however, e-mail the compaint back to the manufacturer and they sent him a replacement spool very quickly.  He says that there have been no problems since.  Maybe you also got a bad batch.   I'd just stick with Maxima ....it never has failed me.
