I am feeling very out of sync with the fish returns this year. In past recent years the Coho runs seemed to be at their peak in the first 2 weeks of October, and the Chum returns would be pretty heavy towards the end of that and on through the end of October. If my memory is correct, by this time in Fall there would be Chum scattering every time one stepped off the shore or walked across a side channel.
Although Coho catching seems to have been very good over the middle 10 days in October, there doesn't seem to be the total numbers that were common in the last 5 years - and still very few Chum around.
Are you guys sensing the same thing?
Are the Chum numbers usually low in Pink years?
Are there still more Coho to come?
