Title: Lure Weight

A Rookie question:

My rod is rated 1/8 to 5/8 for lure size.  What will happen if I use a lure outside of that range.  For example casting a Panther Martin spinner that is 1/16?

Using smaller lures then that will just be more difficult to cast since they won't allow the rod to load. There is no danger in using smaller lures at all just harder to get any distance on casts.
