Gooey, I admire your courage for mentioning it to people when you see abuse.  Just seems like its not worth it when all you get is an abusive response.

The complacency of the many is what enables the abuse by the few - a lesson Germans learned the hard way in the 30s.

Fast forward to the XXI century fishing issues: unless the abuse is not confronted either by direct interference or continual reporting to the relevant authorities, nothing will change and the abuse will become even more rampant to the point where the whole fishery will collapse and sportfishing as a whole will become one ugly government-sanctioned gong show limited to a few rivers and weeks of the year.
