My favorite setup is the fly rod and reel!  I find that in the late season - there's alot more room to cast a fly!

That funny cause I have found that on many chilly mornings the blade bight does not turn on until later on 11~ish once it wamrs up a bit.

so you're saying you get alot of hits prior to that, using roe?  this late in the season?
wow. i guess you're the exception.  most fishermen i come across, tell me after first light, fishing totally slowed down.  usually, around 11:00.  and what irony almost all their fish were caught on blades...all at first light. one or two on wool. none on roe. ???

On days when it starts off below zero I usually don't start hitting fish until its warmed up a little. First light I will usually start off with roe and then switch back and forth with blades.
