I'd have to say that I like all of them - depending on the season!

yep. havent' fished it tons but have gone spring salmon fishing, dolly and rainbow fishing on the fly and i also hear there is an excellent coho fishery there.

just watch out for big bears. i once had a bear stare me down across the river. probably the biggest black bear i have ever seen (about the size of a volkswagon) needless to say we never slept in the tent. actually that same day a cub tried to swim at me from across the river and we also saw a huge one feeding on some berries on the way in to our camping area before we encountered the one staring us down.

i guess all the bear poop and bear tracks should have been a warning.

little late getting into this thread but my least favorite in salmon season has become the vedder, i will not fish it outside of steelhead season.
my favorite is the size of the vedder but is actually a creek up east harrison, an amazing stretch of water that is the most gorgeous flow I have ever fished. Not high numbers but if the timing is right, coho can be had, steelhead in season, plenty of big my friend dollies and my favorite species of all , searun cutthroat.

Speaking of steelhead, I would think that the Thompson would be the best steely river!!!!  But that is because of it's history!!!!  After that I would have to say the Stamp, Gold, Vedder, and Chehalis in that order.  This is only my opinion, I could be wrong!!!!  Btw did I miss any other good Steelhead Rivers in Bc, besides the ones up north???? ;D ;D

I suppose that the Chekamis would be another good one, or at least, used to be another one before the chemical spill. :'( :'(
