The water clarity is fair to good right now in the Fraser. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours fishing it. Lucky, his girlfriend, Pierboy and Double Underhook were all fishing already yesterday when I arrived, but none had any luck. On my first cast, a hookup brought in a bull trout between 1 and 2lb. I should have left right there and leave them wondering what was going on. ;D Nothing else was hooked beside Lucky and Pierboy's bull trout yesterday.

Rod, you did keep me wondering what was going on, thats why I came over and asked what your secret was ;D
First cast, fish on! CRAZY  :o

I guess the bull trouts are back for fall  :D

I don't have a photo of the bull trout from yesterday as it was quite small, which went back into the water right away.

Here are some photos of bull trout from past seasons.

This time of the year you'll find lots of them. On a good day you can tangle with up to ten fish during one tide change. They are basically following the salmon back and feeding on the eggs. They are generally between 1 and 3lb, but I've seen fish up to 8lb caught. The fall bull trout are usually fairly sluggish, my favorite time to catch them around here is between May and June. Those fish are strong, well fed, so they fight almost like a salmon.

A wise decision stinkytroutboy, better be safe than sorry. Eight years ago I witnessed a friend of mine tumbling down (two rotations!) the rocks into the water. Fortunately he was fine, just a bit wet. It was on a day similar to yesterday, rainy and cold.

Thank you for the bull trout pics, they sure are nice! Those red/orange spots on them are quite fetching.
I know that they are protected now, but have you ever eaten one? Are they similar to eating a Dolly varden or Lake Trout?
