frozen roe...what to do.

hey guys. a buddy from work gave me a bag full of uncured frozen spring salmon skeins from a prevoius year. they are frozen solid and i was wondering if anybody has had experience on trying to save this bunch of roe and tring to cure it.is it worth the effort on trying to thaw it out and curing it. thanks.

I tried to cure frozen pink roe it was tottal crap.

I disagree.  I have frozen uncured spring roe and used it the next season with some success.  Unthaw it and decide whether it looks alright.  If it still looks in good condition cure it.  It may not be as good as freshly cured roe but it may still be alright.  A few years ago, I was told to do just that if you planned to use it the following season.
