OK Lake Report July 23/24
« on: July 25, 2005, 04:29:37 PM »

I figured I'd give a report since I haven't been giving many latley  ;)

Went up to the Okanogan this weekend and spent a bit of time fishing in between lounging around and doing nothing. Mostly fished off the end of the dock but did go for a quick troll. Didn't catch anything trolling, however, I did quite well off of the dock. In total we caught 1 carp, 3 trout, 1 whitefish and too many NPN to count. The bait of choice for us was bread fished under an indicator, chronie style. Except for the carp which was taken on a wedding band  :o

Here's a pic of the carp. Too bad my head got cropped off. On a side note we hooked another bigger carp, but it managed to snap my 6lb leader.

Here's a pic of one of my sisters with a trout she caught. She actually did all the work, I'm just holding it cause she's afraid of 'slimy' stuff.

Here's a pic of my other sis with one of the MANY NPN we caught over the weekend.

And here's a pic of me with the largest rainbow of the week which was around 18 inches and decided he didn't want to be photographed.

That trout looks like it's headless in that last photo.

Big carp!

I've got a wife that's not a big fan of "slimy things" either :D

Yellow lake can produce some nice fish. It gets to warm in the summer, best to fish it in very early spring or late fall

Closer to the windfield area. I don't really ever fish any of the other lakes in that region.

I'm 5 and 7 years older than them respectably.
