okay, so if I read the blurb on the link correctly, first the study, then if 'supported'; legislation. Well, I for one , having been involved in many gov sponsored 'consultations' past, trust them completely to interpret the results of said consultation in a fair and unbiased manner ::). Right now, they are trying to drum up support to include Gabriola Is. in their study ('consultation'), and the info on the website says the idea is to 'manage' the area (like high current areas, maybe like Porlier Pass?) in consultation with various user groups including 1st Nations. I wonder if this means lower salmon limits, more salmon closures, etc? Whaddaya think Sam?

I think there haven't been enough Salmon in/near Porlier pass worth burning gas over in 15 years now.Not as few as the dead zone formerly known as Active Pass but poor Salmon fishing generally.
If they can get the Natives on side over this great but I doubt it.
I think it's important to establish the Park now and then maybe in a couple hundred years people will appreciate what was done as the benthic environment slowly recovers.
