South Surrey/White Rock Streams/Ponds
« on: May 27, 2021, 12:47:51 PM »

Has anyone tried microfishing in the South surrey/White Rock area?

Looking for fun little spots to fish, not looking for anything big, just minnows, stickleback, crappie/sunfish and other things to fish for fun.

I've had success at latimer pond, but wondering if there's other places around me

Thanks!

Abe

You could try the pond at Highpoint Park. I think there's some bass in there IIRC.

I've seen people fishing the Serpentine for coarse fish once it opens in the summer.

No experience with microfishing, or for the warm water species you describe. However if you are open to tidal fishing, I would suggest fishing along the White Rock and Crescent Beach piers.

I'll check that place out! Not too far off

Interesting the river? Usually I only see people fishing salmon/cuttthroat there!

I've been thinking about that, I'll have to grab my tidal license!

White Rock pier you may be surprised with what you might catch.  Years ago we'd get some serious bullheads with bait.  Pile perch are fun to catch using the muscles off the pier poles.
