Skagit river and Ross lake

I guess a lot of us are excited to go fishing there in a few days. However, due to the low water condition, ross lake won't have water at Canadian side this summer.

I was wondering if it will affect the skagit river water level as well.

Ya; saw a colleague's pics from Ross taken last weekend and there was nothing but stumps on the Canadian side.

Anyone been fishing at Ross lake yet? Wondering if it's worth making the trip out.

Depends if you are wanting to fish a lake, or fish the Skagit River amid mud flats and tree stumps.

At full pool, Ross Lake is 1610 ft in elevation, currently it's approx 50 ft lower than that

Welcome to Washington!  Ross Lake Dam has been releasing more water than past years to make sure the threatened Skagit River chum fry can out-migrate successfully.  Given this change in policy, this could become the new normal for some years.

There's access to the lake from the Canadian side isn't there? Are there signs or markers of any kind on the lake showing where the Can/US boundary is? I don't have a current passport

That's the point we are trying to make. There is currently NO Ross Lake on the Canadian side due to low water levels.

Ouch. Was planning to camp and fish the lake this July. Been going there for the last 40 yrs. Hope this is not the new norm.
