Otter.

A Koi is just a carp.

I've had the pleasure of watching otter's feed in the wild many times. From what I have seen, they mostly eat crayfish and freshwater clams.

Although otters aren't particularly difficult to trap, they can be when they feed selectively.  Years ago we had an otter taking Cultus Lake sockeye from our counting fence ... shooting it was not an option so we called in a professional trapper.  He tried unsuccessfully to live trap this animal for 2 weeks, with no success.
Eventually the otter moved on when it tired of sockeye ;D

Team koi. 15 years ago. Steelheading. Chilliwack. Allison pools fishing thru dead of winter. Upper section fished thru. Got to middle pool. Who climbs down from the water fall across the river. Mr. Otter. Proceeds to dip into the river and swim inro the main holding water. Disappears to the depths, pops up, down again. I sit on a rock and take it in. A little nip or 2 out of my flask. Warms the body with the cold. No point to fish it thru while the rascal stirs up the flow. I wish I had a camera I wasnt prepared for the sneaky weasel to crawl back up the waterfall with a 10 plus pound doe in his claws. He took my damn fish. Low holed by a freakin otter. Where are the fishing ethics? Didnt even ask me first.
