Think the mental stress along with the banged up bodies is about to take it 's toll.
Only the tough mental players are going to battle thru it & keep playing determined hockey.
Boston Bruins seem to be the mental tough team. They never seem to let up or get down...
They keep coming at the oposition in every game so far. Home or away games.
Blue jackets tried but they looked abit like pop that lost it's fizz. ( or bubbles)
Fans even looked tired...hit a wall.
Fan fatigue I guess.
Dallas looks very strong physically. Strong on their skates.
Boston wins tonight series tied 2-2.
I'd like a team to get the Cup who has not won one before but it I'd also nice for the most deserving team to get it. The team that competes to win it.
Sharks & Avs tied in series 2-2.
NYI need to win 4 straight if they are to go on.
Can be done. Kicked out Pens in 4.
Something tells me NYI may go out in 5 games maybe 6.
Just cannot see them winning 4 straight.
Honestly only watched 50% of Boston game & even less Sharks game.
Too busy today.
Refs are totally nuts in Boston/ Blue jacket game.
Boston player cross checked in the back in front of the net & as he tried to get up he is cross checked again & no call !!!!!!
Later the Boston player gives a moderate body check on the boards & Columbus guy falls down & Boston gets penalty. Tripping.
Soft penalty.
If ref does not call two cross checks to a guy's back & shoulder/neck area & later calls a soft penalty ???
Totally BS. Refs in a lot of these games are out to lunch.

Out to lunch or just trying to barely look like they are there.  Missing all kinds of calls as is typical in the playoffs but then calling something small just to make sure everyone still remembers to pay them.

Well said, good pt. & so true.  ;D ;D ;D (gee why did I not think of that.)
Those zebras can really drive ya nuts. Non call no call or WTH call ???
( soft call )
Blues game ...score 2-0 for Dallas & the St Louis fans are so so quiet...but no suddenly Blues score & it's come to life!!!  about 11 minutes left in 3rd & Dallas going to SIN BIN...
How fast a game can turn around....
Drama ahead. Stay tuned.
Bishop solid & Dallas D very physical infront of their net.
Dallas looking good.
Blues have to dig deep if they want to W in Dallas.
Never seen Bishop play so steady.
Edit In:
Watched the replay & Hurricanes were flying in their building. This team looks very good. Won 5-2 & sweep ...win 4 straight games. Islanders bite the dust.
Mentally physically they are on top. & come in waves down the ice.
Effortless skating. They can be physical too. ( hard hitting )
They rest up now & await Bruins or Columbus.
Very interesting.....

Just finished watching the replay of Bruin/Blue Jacket game. Kinda a weird game.
Bruins had an edge the 1st 1/3 of game then suddenly Blue Jackets got quality chances. Both goalies making good saves. Any justice the score would of been in favour of the Blue jackets by a goal or two at the end of 2 periods.
Then in the 3rd the flood gates openned as the teams got offensive minded. 4-3 Boston.
Blue Jackets looked better the 2nd 1/2 of the game. 1st half they looked tight. One Zboston 3rd period goal looked nearly off side. Wonder why it was not challenged ?
Only watched highlights of Sharks Avs game but it looked like an exciting game.
Both goalies did good judging by the low score.
Boston up 3—2 in series.
Sharks up 3-2 in series.
A Dallas win Sunday will kick out the Blues.
Hurricanes would just like the Bruin/Jackets go 7 games so they would be "spent" & Huricanes fresh / rested & ready to go !!!

Watched replay of Blues/Stars game.
Wow Blues came out with a lot of effort so they have a back bone.
These two teams are so evenly matched thus series are 3-3.
WTH ( hell) Bishop injured on shot but secs after Blues score ?????
Where is the ref whistle to stop play????
Regardless after 4th a Blues goal they sure showed their white teeth ( smiles/laughter )
Think teams showed fatigue like in the Boston/Blue Jacket game slowing down at times....
Stress high pressure games take there toll.
Think Hurricanes resting now are going to be the Cup champions is my guess the way things are playing out...
Lastly the intermissions today between Dallas & Blues seemed to be in slow motion....
Was it 30 minute breaks ????
Never seen such long intermissions...time machine ...the day the earth stood still ( movie) or red wine & Elvis YT cd vid What now my love cd1 & Elvis YT cd vid What now my love cd2
Now it 's show down between Sharks & Avs Stars & Blues Boston & Blue Jackets....
& this is only RD 2

Watching those NBC guys during intermission can make it seem like forever.  That is probably what you are experiencing :)

Think it was the red wine actually.
But so much time between periods it seemed...could of cooked up a big meal in those long breaks.
Boston took over this series. They did not tire & focused. Blue Jackets let stress affect them & they got uptight. Not a fan of Torts. He seems not to be a calming effect but kinda like a cupcakes stirrer.
Bruin vs Hurricanes will be a great series. Bruins are focused & look impressive.
Sharks vs Avs going to game 7. Evenly matched.

Blues win in game 7 double OT over Dallas. Score 2-1.
Both goalies played SUPER in this one.
In OT both goalies made crucial saves.
On some plays it looked like Dallas was going to get their stick on the puck & put it into the net but....
In OT Dallas had more chances to score but.....
Blues going to play Avs or Sharks.
Boston vs Hurricanes in the east.
One of these five teams will be Stanley Cup Champions.
Dallas & Blues were so evenly matched & great sportsmanship as the players shook hands & even hugged each other. They played hard & good physical but clean hockey.
Again both goalies played just SUPER !!! Bishop & Bennington. Cool like cucumbers out of the fridge they were  ;D
EDIT IN: did I say that the goalies played great. ( just as good as goalie Ken Dryden...oh he got 6 Cups in less than 9-10 yrs )

Some amazing saves in that one.  And then the winner is a shot off the post, off the goalie who was afraid it was going to hit him so leaned forward so it wouldn't roll in, and then just sat behind him and tipped in from there.  Crazy play but who didn't know it was going to be a goal like that which finally won it.  It was going to be some lucky bounce, weird play.  It had to be.

St. Louis deserved that win. They were the better team last night.

FA welcome back to the NHL topic. Great ya finally watched a game.
Thought ya caught that dreaded Lost In Action Disease!
Ya Blues outshot Dallas by quite a bit.
But the quality chances Dallas had & Blues the score should of been 5-4 easily.
Right from the start of game Stars had a clear break away. Big save.
A good goalie goes a long way. Mentioned Ken Dryden. All those Stanley Cups in the 70s the a Canadians got was because of having a great goalie. Boston was a power house with Orr Esposito etc who both had over 100 pt seasons. Phil Esposito 76 goals. Experts thought the Canadians would lose the series..
Boston won most of the reg. season games.
Game 1 Bruins win 3-1
Game 2 Bruins ahead 4-1 in the game...rolling along...
Canadians score 4 unanswered goals & WIN.
Think series went to game 7.
Many of those Stanley series in the 70s went to 6-7 games & Dryden was the edge.
Boston Chicago Flyers NYI were power houses during this time.

Toronto Detroit St Louis NY Rangers had very good teams too. Canucks Stars etc..not so.
Even Sabres were quite good as they had the French Connection Line.
The 60's hockey was entertaining but so much goon hockey & so many whistles.
So many games was very rough/fights...original six.
Of course the Flyers in the 70s were very rough / fighting.
Flyers would destroy the Canucks with their tactics. Tails between their legs.
That's when the slogan came out I guess. Went to hockey game & game  broke out. ( kinda idea )
Marchant is so weird .....man of a few words.
This year "psychology"
Last year he licked players on their face  ;D
Guess it's his way to deal with the stress.
Can you imagine if Torts was his coach & Merchant was in his dog house.
Those guys would have to stay away from each other one end of bench to other far side.
Kinda like coach Kenan & Brett Hull were like a cat & mouse.
Looking forward to Bruins & Hurricanes match up.
This will be two trains on the same track going opposite ways. Bigger train will win the collision.
Boston have looked steady as have Hurricanes.
Hurricanes have had time to catch their 2nd & 3rd wind ( heal bumps & bruises ) so it's. " very very very interesting "
Ya TNA it was a crazy goal. Kinda like those machines ya stick a 25 cents or whatever & metal ball bumps about & flappers try to keep ball in play.
Goalies were so tuned in & calm....maybe they had radar in their helmet.  ;D

8 wins = Stanley Cup !
Sharks vs Blues on Fri or Sat start???
Hope it's Sat as Sharks need Thur/Fri off.
Their Capt. (Joe P ) comes back & gets a goal & assit.
It should be a war.
Again what a series...goes to game 7 & 3-2 Sharks over Avs.
One by one 15 teams will bite the dust. Only thing the dust gets dryer & thicker in progressive rounds.
Ouch ! Ouch ! Team gets so close but so far.
The losing finals team really really feels it....tears & disappointment.
Like being in the desert & crawling to the oasis but die 3 feet away from the cool wet clean water.
There's the Stanley Cup & they can taste it but no no no the other team wins.
This is when stress really builds...
Team that settles down & just relaxes has the big advantage.
Bruins vs Hurricanes ...
3 teams have never won the Stanley out of the 4 remaining.
Sharks win it Great !
Blues win it Super !
Hurricanes win it Thumbs up !
Bruins win it ...Well ok if they do then they worked for it.

Canes Bruins is tonight so Sharks Blues has to be tomorrow right?  So they are spread out?  I haven't looked but assumed that would be the case.

No, I am wrong.  Canes Bruins tonight, nothing tomorrow night, Sharks Blues Saturday, Canes Bruins Sunday.  Interesting.

Ya your right. Interesting but kidda crazy too. Ya would think Bruins would have at least a 2 day break between series.
Must be some event in Boston Gardens on Friday so they were forced to go with Thurs.
on the bright side for Bruins it's in their home rink. They play great at home or away anyways but on short break think they are happy to open at home.
Then they get that nice break & play on Sunday ( thanks for info )
Hockey tonight.
Hockey Sat / Sunday.
Guess I better drink my 2 glasses of red wine on Friday / Elvis YT vids  ;D

2-1 in the 3rd for Hurricanes & then penalties....suddenly it's 3-2 Boston. Ends 5-2 Boston.
Rask kept the game close in the 1st & 2nd period making quality saves.
Thought Boston looked tired but forced themselves to compete.
Thought refs made some soft calls & on cross checks etc...he kept his whistle silent.
Boston nailed anyone infront of the net. Like a big 10 pin bowling ball in 5 pin bowling.
Hurricanes were a bit rusty with their scoring touch.
Think the series is going to heat up.
Boston playing smart hockey but very physical.
Game two watch out ...should be a good game.
Just may come down to goaltending ...Rusk playing very very good.
We are going to see which team wants to get to the finals. Team needs all players to be in it.
No weak links.
Boston fresh from a big 6 game series wore Blue Jackets down.
Only a day of rest they got this victory. Sparked by the power play in the 3rd.
Hold on to your hats folks!
Ya just know when the series moves to the Hurricane rink the fans will be LOUD !
Will it be 1-1 or 2-0 in series when it does?
Sharks were down 3-1 in series & won over the Knights.
& down 3-0 in 3rd period with 10 minutes to go & a major 5 minute penalty called.
4-3 Sharks & then 4-4 ..OT & Sharks win.
Weird things happen in hockey games/ series.
Boston appears to be like that boxer in Vegas...50-0 or whatever.
They just have a crafty way about them.
Will they collapse like a house of cards?
They are just so mentally strong to go with their hard playing/ skills.
