Inlet in 2018 is approximately 83,000 (range 60,000 to 105,000). The predicted adult
age composition is 34%, 52% and 14% of 3, 4 and 5-year old fish, respectively. With
this expected age composition and a target of 39M eggs, the escapement target is
approximately 23,000. This means a surplus of over 50,000 Chinook
Coho ForecastLook for moderate runs similar to last year. Although the formal forecast is for less than last year, what we have seen on the grounds on the west coast the last 2 weeks in the ocean sure looks like a big run of big fish materializing.
Run Size/Timing UpdateFish are right on queue this year with optimum weather conditions. We may see the peak a little earlier this season with the ideal migration conditions.
