Thanks everyone. Just found it interesting. Must of just been where he set his net as I am pretty sure he wasn't sorting. I went out twice myself, caught 2 females one trip and nothing the next so that was too small a sample, and and with 1 week to go to until bow season I doubt I will make it back out until Coho season.

Been out a number of times, and it's been an even 50/50

40? must be fishing the ocean right...because 16 days since the opening x2 limit...everyone should have at most 32 fish lol  :P

These fish were bought and paid for lol and not all for myself either!
I've only been out 3 times for socks so far

3 males to 1 female today, brings it to 21/24 so 7/8 male.  Makes me not feel guilty about harvesting a lot of sockeye as I know it is eggs that are the primary driver of spawning productivity.

10 total, all hens but one big bruiser buck.

Side note, not to sidetrack, is there any harm in returning discarded fish scraps to a river different then it's origin? In this case the Vedder from the Fraser? Trying to do the right thing in keeping the nutrients in the river but don't want any unforeseen consequences from a seemingly harmless act.

Nope nothing wrong with that at all. The only potentially negative outcome is some dummy not being able to put two and two together and assuming someone decapitated a bunch of cultus sockeye 🙄

I've killed 11 this year and only 4 were females. All the males have been big though.
