Lake Windermere Shore Access?

Hey all, I'm staying in Invermere for four days. Just arrived tonight. Are there any good spots for shore fishing Windermere Lake? It all looks pretty shallow and sandy along the edges in Google Maps which isn't ideal. Was also going to try just north of the bridge on Athalmer Rd; pretty much the beginning of the Columbia River. I'm sure it would be better with a boat but I'll give it a try regardless. Any tips on access in the Athalmer Rd area would also be appreciated. Or if you live in Invermere and want to get together for a few hours of fishing please send me a PM :P

We booked an evening charter on Whiteswan Lake in a couple of days so will get a chance to fish from a boat with someone who knows the area. I've heard that Whiteswan is gorgeous so looking forward to it!
