...not as exotic as an Atlantic but...
« on: October 22, 2017, 05:39:20 PM »

....out of place. Released a clipped chinook Sat morning at Chehalis. Thought it was a chum at first because it did not fight like a coho , just bulldogged. Seemed to be  a typical white compared to the reds I've seen there, bronzed up with a couple of yellow spots on the belly, about 10 lbs.. Have never landed one there and its been 20-25 yrs since I have seen anything in the water in the fall I thought was a chinook...

I have landed 3 springs (white) in the chehalis over the last 10 years. I have also seen a school once. I think some times Harrison white come in all lost after high water.

Clipping has been going on for A number of years at Chehalis on white springs, watched the band girls doing the Clipping, pretty cool to see. Chehalis whites come n go in numbers, but definitely a surprise more than normal,   took in a head from one recently

Heard of a clipped spring caught at the Capilano in march, the guy sent the head in and it was from the columbia system.

I encountered a white jack on Friday, I was as surprised as you to see it.

I used to see them all the time in the hatchery channel when it still had water. Lots of clipped chinook in the vedder also

I caught a few over the years during the fall..more common a while back when main flow went on the Pretty's side. I can't remember if they were clipped or not.
