Dishwasher salmon

(1/1)

The Gilly:
My best buddies mom used to cook her salmon in the dishwasher.  She would prepare a whole salmon and seal it tightly in tin foil.  Always came out moist.

Anyone else heard of this meathod?

Fish Assassin:
I saw it done on a cooking show. You can poach the salmon and it will be moist and delicious.

otto:
yea...run a couple of cycles on the hottest setting, without soap or dishes. then wrap salmon in many layers of tinny foil, sealing the edges real tight. place so edges of tin foil are upside down so the water just runs of the foil. very effective and a excellent way of poaching salmon. yum yumy um 8)

MERC:
Saw this done on a show with a chef named Bob Bloomer (?) called the Surreal Gourmet.  Key is to TIGHTLY seal the edge of the foil.  After you seal the salmon in the foil, if you lightly press down on the middle of the package, you should be able to see the air being forced to a different part of the foil pack and not escape out of an improper seal.  Add a splash of white wine, some fresh herbs and salt and pepper and it should be delish!  Very similar in concept to french cooking en papillotte.
