I am interested to help out but perhaps you refresh this post close to the day of the clean-up. Some of us older guys don't have good memory any more. Lol.

That's why some of us older guys have become totally dependent on reminders from the calendar in their newfangled phone. Got this "penciled" in  8)

Week and a half away folks. Hope to see you there.

Searun Fly and Tackle and the Steelhead Society of BC have generously donated hats and fishing gear for the raffle. Everyone who participates gets entered.

Went to the cleanup yesterday in the rain. First time doing one of these. A good crowd of about 25 showed up despite the weather. Thanks to Megan and Michael for organizing, sourcing cleaning supplies, getting food donations, and procuring raffle prizes.

Some trashy highlights included a rim, tire, hibachi, 3 shopping carts, 30-40 syringes, a couch (that had to be floated down the river a ways to get it out of the bush, lol), along with a bunch of electrical wires and electronic junk.

I'm pleased that nobody found a body or was stuck by a syringe  8)

Hey everyone,

Little bit late of reply, but just wanted to say thanks to all that made it out! Was a huge success with a pretty good turn out of about 30-35 people. We estimated that about 4 tonnes of garbage was removed! Thanks again to Searun Fly and Tackle and the Steelhead Society for the donations!! And also Me n Eds in Port Coquitlam.

There was a small write up about the event in the Tri-Cities: http://www.tricitynews.com/news/needles-and-couches-in-coquitlam-trash-sweep-1.22652595
