You could try Deer Lake. This photo was taken Saturday.  Lafarge is ice free?

We drove to the closest beach pier and it was full of people crabbing. We ended up not fishing at all because people kept saying we would hook their crab traps, and they made fun of us for fishing there in the winter.

Did you request a copy of the deed to the Pacific Ocean? Ignore idiots as you have as much right to be there as they do.Maybe ask if they minded if you called a conservation officer to check their catch ;). What pier was it? I need to go toss a line. 8)
