My fishing video
« on: March 02, 2017, 05:44:20 PM »

I've been playing around with an editing app and I think despite my ineptitude at computer functions I have successfully figured out how to post a video on here. Many of you will recognize several spots in here from the lower mainland mind/Fraser valley. Turn up the volume and enjoy!

Thanks! Band is Ween btw if anyone who's never heard of them wants to look em up. Loved them for years - they are musically all over the map and have some real weird stuff but many many hidden gems. As far as not uploading - and I actually truly have no idea what I'm talking about when I say this - maybe check your cookies? I have no use how to do this :'( lol

Ah, works now.
I'm not a big fan of stills in a video unless they enhance the video footage. Would love to have seen more of the fight at the beginning, though you should turn your phone sideways while filming.

^^^This would be my (unsolicited) feedback as well. Vertical/portrait style filming really limits the potential. Remember, all screens we watch videos on are set up as horizontal / landscape. :)

Appreciate the feedback guys, will be trying to improve and get a lot more footage thru this pink season and into the fall.. will keep this in mind. Sometimes it's hard to concentrate on filming while you're fighting a fish! Lol

Thats for sure. I was filming the biggest trout I ever had on a few years ago, maybe 6 to 8 pounds I guessed when it jumped. Decided to try and film the fight, next thing it had taken all my line and backing off the reel and then broke off. Must find that footage one day. :'(

Yup, it's hard.
I went with a chest mount and waterproof case for my phone specifically to get around that problem.
I do end up with a lot of footage of my hands as I strip in my fly line.

I now have a GoPro Session and mount it a little higher on my chest. It seems to work okay.
