Feathers tangling in tackle box
« on: January 16, 2017, 04:30:05 PM »

We've been tying feathers to our fishing hooks, to give the kids something to do in the winter.  The problem is when we put several lures into one compartment in the tackle box, the hooks and feathers turn into one big tangled mess.  Do you know good ways to keep lures separated?

Thank you in advance!

Try a section of drinking straw. Slurpie sized straws. Can't figure out how to get the spinner and hook through the straw? Cut a slit uo the length of the section of straw and pull the lure/hook connection through the straw. Pull it in a fashion that the point of the hook comes out of the slit but the feathers remain inside the straw.

Use slit foam fly boxes.

I wear a multi coloured boa when I'm on the water.  If I need a feather, I just pluck one out and BAM.  Ready to add fish catching action to any lure or to tie an impromptu pattern.

No thanks. He's already shared pictures of himself in his pajamas. We need to draw the line somewhere.

@KarakeKick: so as to not derail your thread completely :) Rieber has a great suggestion

Great colours to tie intruders.
