Fishing Ideas for Chilliwack
« on: May 01, 2016, 09:11:52 PM »

Hey FWR,

So Friday I have the day off school and want to get out and maybe do some fishing. I'm located in Chilliwack and do not have a boat. Vedder is fly-only for May now. I was thinking Foley but don't have ramps to load the quad into my truck. Cultus and Chilliwack give me the impression that you need a boat to do the best. Any ideas?  ;D

Cultus fishes great from shore. Try casting some spoons and spinners and you'll be surprised.

You can fish chilliwack lake from shore. Just takes a little extra work. Follow the creeks down to the lake from the FSR and fish the creek mouths.

As others have mentioned, Cultus and Chilliwack both have quite a bit of shore fishing access and you can get into both bull trout and cutthroat trout during this time of the year, as well as northern pikeminnow at Cultus. If you are into sight fishing, largescale suckers are also plentiful in the shallows at Cultus and can be very fun on a light rod.

Jones has a bit of shore access and you will be able to get into some nice cutthroat trout.

Hicks has plentiful of shore access and you'll be able to get into a variety of species, newly stocked catchable rainbow trout, previously stocked rainbow trout which are quite a bit bigger, native rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and kokanee.
