Definitely a long shot.

If you have one of these reels laying around out of commission, please let me know.

I broke the Black Bushing/Spool Cap (aka, release lever cap) on my Seldex a few years ago due to a bad slip. It would be nice to take this reel off the shelf and fish it again.

I have the same problem. I inquired a year ago on most forums, and seems they are hard to come by. I did find the same guy in England, however the shipping costs didn't make it worth my while.

Check with Mikes Reel Repair or Lindsay Briton in Chilliwack (I know he could make one). I'll look for his # at the shop later this am

Mike's reel repair made one up for me a few years back it is perfect, can't tell it from the original

Thanks for your reply. Here is a picture of the broken piece. Unfortunately I also lost the spring that holds the spool retention lever in the process. My friend was able to bend a piece of metal which can be seen in the picture to wedge the lever under the spindle; holding the spool in place.

Take the time to send an email to England and see what the cost would be for cost of part and shipping. From what I remember it was not that much.

Checked the Caps that I have and I don't have one, mine are all for fly reels, sorry. I do have a spring that will work
