Fishing with confidence to me is knowing that I am fishing properly and ethically while fishing the runs that I have found and love. Also knowing to read the water properly.

Good question. To me, fishing with confidence means trusting that whatever you have on the end of your line will catch fish. If you fish with something you are confident in, your lure will be in the strike zone more often, increasing your chances of a strike. And of course, not all lures are created equal, so having previously caught fish on what you are using helps boost that confidence.

And how could I forget, confidence that there are fish at your spot and that they are willing to bite.

Knowing what I'm using, whether bait or lure, works and of course, trusting that the fish are there and willing to bite.

confidence for me is not changing my setup every second and also not going mainstream and going what you think is best. Ive been to the vedder and have seen people landing springs right when i get there but then when i see there setup i notice its different. but still i usually go with my setup

Don't think about your next cast.  The current cast/retrieve/drift is the most important one.

It's amazing how much more confidence you have with your fishing when you know that the body of water you are fishing on has fish willing to bite, even if its the guy next to you catching the fish. Or maybe its because i'm a noob  :P

Confidence is fishing in a spot where you caught fish before , you know where to drift and how deep to set

Fishing with confidence is knowing that Safeway is open late.

To me confidence isn't  knowing this or that about the water but more of a vibe that you get every once in a while.
Spidy sense kinda thing.
I have also learned one thing about Steelhead.
When you expect to catch them you don't.
Never ever go back the next day after having a really good day.
If you catch a fish in the first five minutes, your done.Might as well pack up and go home.
Even if its a week long fishing trip. ;)
